1. Who this policy applies to
This Privacy Policy applies when you visit or use Kanu Vivah, create or manage an account or matrimonial profile, upload photographs, contact support, or otherwise interact with the platform. “Kanu Vivah”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the service operating this website. The legal name and address of the responsible operator should be added here before launch if different from the Kanu Vivah name shown on the website.
2. Information we may collect
Depending on the features you use, information may include:
- Account and contact information, such as your name, mobile number and email address, including verification status.
- Matrimonial profile information, such as the person the profile is for, age calculated from date of birth, education, profession, community/subcommunity, Gotra, family details, preferences, interests, hobbies, description and profile contact number.
- Photographs and related moderation information, including approval status and whether a photograph is marked as primary.
- Family and guardian information, including a guardian’s account identifier, relationship/permission settings and lineage or family-tree information where those features are used.
- Support enquiries and messages you choose to send us.
- Operational and security information generated by the service, such as login/session events, rate-limit events, technical logs and transaction status/reference information where applicable.
Please do not submit information about another person unless you have their knowledge and permission or other lawful authority to do so. Avoid including sensitive personal information that is not needed for a matrimonial introduction.
3. How we use information
We use information as reasonably necessary to create and administer accounts and profiles; verify account access; review profiles and photographs; enable search, matching, family and guardian features; enforce access and safety controls; respond to enquiries; maintain, troubleshoot and secure the service; prevent fraud, impersonation and misuse; maintain relevant records; and meet applicable legal obligations.
4. Profile approval and visibility
Profiles and photographs may be reviewed before they are made visible. Only profiles that meet the platform’s approval and visibility requirements should appear in discovery features. What another person can see depends on the feature, their account/access status and the permissions applied by the platform.
- Public-facing previews, where enabled, may show only selected profile details such as a name, age, education or profession.
- Registered users may be able to view additional details from approved profiles, subject to the platform’s access controls.
- Profile contact numbers are intended to be restricted to the profile owner, an appropriately authorised guardian, or a viewer whose account has validly received the applicable full-access entitlement.
- We display calculated age rather than the full date of birth on the profile view. The date of birth may still be processed internally to calculate age and should not be treated as public profile information.
- Do not assume that information shared with another user can be recalled after that user has viewed, copied or saved it.
We aim to apply these controls consistently, but no online platform can guarantee that another person will not misuse information they are permitted to see. Please report suspected misuse to hello@kanuvivah.in.
5. Family-managed profiles and guardians
An account may support more than one family profile. A person creating or managing a profile for another adult must have that person’s knowledge, consent and appropriate authority. Guardian permissions may allow specified actions, such as editing profile details or managing photographs; they should not be used to bypass the profile subject’s rights or preferences. Account holders should keep access credentials private and promptly tell us if a guardian relationship or permission is no longer appropriate.
6. Photographs and moderation
Photographs submitted to the platform may be reviewed and may remain hidden until approved. The platform is designed to allow up to five photographs per profile; this limit must be enforced by the live application. We may reject or remove photographs that are misleading, unauthorised, unlawful, abusive or inconsistent with the platform’s rules. Please only upload photographs you have permission to share.
7. Sharing and service providers
We do not intend to sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers needed to operate the platform, such as web hosting and database providers, transactional email/verification providers (including Brevo where configured), technical/security providers and, if a payment feature is enabled, the payment provider used for that transaction. Providers may process information under their own terms and privacy notices. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law or respond to valid legal requests.
We do not promise that every provider or integration is enabled in every release. The live production configuration determines which providers actually receive data.
8. Payments
Account/profile creation is intended to be free. Full-access or other paid features may be offered only when explicitly enabled and when the price and terms are shown before payment. The proposed full-access price has been ₹549, but payment availability and price must be confirmed on the live checkout before any payment is made. Where a payment provider is used, that provider processes payment details. Kanu Vivah should not collect or store card, UPI PIN or banking passwords. Payment records may include amount, currency, status, timestamps and provider reference IDs.
9. Retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the account and platform, administer profiles and permissions, resolve disputes, maintain security, keep required records and comply with law. Retention periods can vary by information type. Closing or deleting an account may not immediately remove information that must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention or transaction-record purposes. Information in backups and technical logs may persist for a limited period before being overwritten or deleted.
To request access, correction, withdrawal of consent where applicable, account closure or deletion of profile information, email hello@kanuvivah.in from your registered email where possible. Include your account/profile reference and the action requested, but do not send passwords or OTPs. We may ask for reasonable verification before acting.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information. No website, email transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. You should use a device you trust, keep account access private and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. Do not send passwords or one-time passwords to support.
11. Your choices and requests
You may ask us to correct inaccurate profile information, review visibility, remove a photograph, change an authorised guardian arrangement, or close an account. Some requests may require identity or authority verification and may be limited where we have a lawful reason to retain certain records. We will review requests in a reasonable manner and explain if we cannot fully comply.
12. Children and eligibility
Kanu Vivah is intended for adults seeking matrimonial introductions. Do not create or publish a matrimonial profile for a person under 18. If you believe a minor’s information has been submitted, contact us so it can be reviewed promptly.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform or its providers change. The “Last updated” date indicates the latest revision. Material changes should be reflected on this page before they take effect where required.
14. Contact and privacy requests
For privacy questions, correction/deletion requests, or concerns about misuse of profile information, contact hello@kanuvivah.in with the subject “Privacy Request”.
